Pure Iron Bar Description
It is not alloyed with any other element and all undesirable trace elements are almost completely removed. It is melted by the LD-process with subsequent vacuum degassing and is continuously cast. Pure Ingot Iron for remelting is available in billet, bloom, or slab form. It is suitable as a high pure ferrum base to melt low and extra low carbon stainless steels, high nickel alloys, magnetic alloys, corrosion and heat resistant castings in induction and vacuum furnaces. Additionally it is used for the production of pure iron powders.
Compared to mild steel, the high purity of Pure Iron offers a better resistance to corrosion, oxidation and chemical attack, high softness, and excellent electrical and magnetic properties. Depending on the grade of machining, Pure Iron may offer acceptable magnetic properties without post annealing because of its high purity.Chemical Composition
